What are the Driver’s License requirements for renting in the U.S. or Canada? 

Enterprise Truck Rental rents light- and medium-duty vehicles which do not require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate. Only if, the driver’s usage, per the company, would require such a license would it be required.

 

Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Territories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. Rental branches will not accept photo copies of Driver’s License, “learner’s permits,” and any license which, on its face, restricts the license to the use and operation of a vehicle with a form of a breathalyzer apparatus. If international customers are attempting to rent a truck or van, an International Driver’s Permit along with other forms of identification to validate driver information may be required.

What information do I need to provide to rent a truck or van from Enterprise Truck Rental?

Renters need a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and need to satisfy age and all of our normal rental qualifications and requirements. If no insurance exists, Enterprise offers several coverage products for purchase at the time of rental. Drivers must also present a valid form of payment.

How do I make a reservation with Enterprise Truck Rental?

COMMERCIAL RENTALS

1. Online: standard or routine rentals can be booked 24/7 at www.enterprisetrucks.com. In the reservation details form, please select "Business" for rental purpose. If you have a contract number, either use the booking link provided to you by your sales representative or enter your contract ID and pin to book with your rates.
 

2. Call 1-888-736-8287 to reserve a vehicle over the phone. Be sure to mention your contract ID. 
 

3. If applicable to your business needs, contact your designated Account Development Representative to book your specialty reservation. 

 

PERSONAL USE RENTALS

1. Book online 24/7 at www.enterprisetrucks.com, be sure to select "Personal" for the rental use occasion. 
 

2. Call 1-888-736-8287 or your local branch to make a reservation or check rates. 

 

How far in advance do I need to reserve a truck rental?

Advanced reservations are highly recommended, especially if your needs require specialty equipment like towing or other commercial capabilities. However, Enterprise Truck Rental is equipped to handle last minute requests. Reservations can be made online or by calling your local branch

One Way Rentals - Can I pick up a rental truck or van at one location and return it to a different location?

With limited exceptions, rental vehicles must be returned to the original location from where they were rented. For information about returning a vehicle to a different location within the same metropolitan area, ask your rental agent or call us at 1 888 rent-a-truck (888-736-8287).

Can I rent from Enterprise Truck Rental and return the vehicle to an Enterprise Rent-A-Car location?

No, Enterprise Truck Rental vehicles must be returned to the original truck rental branch.

When renting for my business, what are my fuel options?

Drivers should reference their company's fuel policy. You are advised to re-fill the tank prior to returning the vehicle.

 

Rental branches offer drivers the option to pre-pay for fuel. Enterprise Truck Rental offers a universal fuel management program through our partner, WEX for those who rent for one month or more. This program can help companies track and manage fuel related expenses. Ask your local branch for more information about our fuel program or visit our partner page

Am I able to tow with an Enterprise Truck Rental?

Towing is available on 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickup trucks in accordance with manufacturer specifications. An additional towing charge may apply. To book or for more information, contact your local rental branch for more details.

I am using Geotab Telematics, who do I contact for support?

Your renting branch will ensure that the device is turned on for your rental. They will also provide you with a brochure demonstrating how to record hours of service and understand how to access the Geotab Drive App.

 

If you have issues with your device, the reporting dashboard or Geotab Drive App, please contact Geotab Support at 888-391-1335 

 

If during your rental, the Telematics device stops working, drivers should stop at a safe location before troubleshooting. Check first to see if the device is properly plugged in. If the error persists, drivers should call 888-391-1335.

 

Contact the local branch if the device is lost or stolen. If you need assistance logging in to the Geotab Drive App, contact your company administrator.

How do I change or cancel my reservation?

To modify or cancel a reservation on EnterpriseTrucks.com, go to the homepage, below the reservation details box, click “View/Modify/Cancel Reservation.”

 

You will need the renters first and last name and the reservation number. If you have trouble with that information, please contact your local branch or for 24/7 assistance, call us at 1 888 rent-a-truck (888-736-8287).

Does Enterprise Truck Rental rent to consumers who need to move their home or apartment furnishings?

Does Enterprise Truck Rental rent CDL trucks or tractors?

Can I earn or redeem Emerald Club and/or Enterprise Plus® points with my rental?

Enterprise Truck Rental does not allow renters to earn or redeem loyalty club points or benefits with their truck rentals. However, you can provide loyalty information during the time of reservation, when booking over the phone for a faster transaction, if known. If you have questions about this policy, please ask your local renting branch. 

How do I extend my rental?

If you need to extend your vehicle rental, at your earliest convenience, please contact your local branch to discuss your extension needs.

What do I need to do if I left a valuable in the rental vehicle? 

As soon as you discover that you have left a valuable or belonging in your rental vehicle, please contact the rental branch. You will need a description of the item you left behind along with details about which vehicle you rented and the date you returned it.

Do Enterprise Truck Rental locations offer pick up service?

Some of our locations offer free pickup service (geographic restrictions apply). Contact your local branch for details.

How can I get a copy of my rental receipt?

To get a copy of your receipt for a previous rental, click here

 

Receipts can also be found via the "Find a receipt" link in the footer.  

 

You will need the driver's license number, last name and the exact date of the rental. If you are unable to locate your receipt online, please contact the office that you rented the vehicle from and they can assist you.

What should I do if I am involved in an accident?

Should an accident occur, please follow the below steps:

 

•If able, make sure everyone at the scene is okay.

•Call the police to report the accident.

•Exchange driver insurance information with the other party involved (if applicable)

•If able, take pictures of the accident scene.

•Report claim to branch you rented from (brand specific)

- Include as much information as possible (police report information, other party information)

- If your local branch is unavailable, contact Emergency Road Service (ERS) with all information dial 800-736-8287, Option 3

 

•The branch or ERS will create an incident report

•The Damage Recovery Unit will send a letter to the contact, which could be followed up with a phonecall to ask additional questions or gather more information for additional proceedings

•You are required to immediately notify the claim handler on receipt of any accident relatedinformation or inquiries.

•The claims process can take time depending on the extent of the accident and related issues

•If you require follow up with our Damage Recovery Unit (DRU) (handles initial claim process anddamage to rental vehicle) please call (866) 300-3238 or via email at DRU2@ehi.com 

Who should I contact with questions about billing or an invoice for my account?

All renters should contact their company administrator with the specific billing question as they relate to their commercial account. 

If your company has terms with Enterprise, please contact your Account Development Representative with any questions regarding billing, payment or invoices.

What is Enterprise Holdings' safety recall policy?

Policy: The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act requires auto manufacturers to send a notice of any safety recall to vehicle owners. When Enterprise Holdings receives such a safety recall notice and the corresponding Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), it is Enterprise Holding’s policy to not rent such vehicles until the manufacturer’s specified remedy or authorized interim repair has been implemented.

 

Process: After receiving the safety recall notice, Enterprise Holdings identifies affected vehicles by VIN and then places a “mandatory hold” on them in our rental management system. This “hold” directs the recall work be completed before renting the vehicle. Sometimes manufacturers advise that certain recalled vehicles can be safely operated once an authorized interim repair has been completed. In such cases, Enterprise Holdings may rent vehicles after the interim repair has been completed – but only until the final remedy is available.
